Mavs' Doncic and Hardaway Power Past Magic

Dallas Duo Combines for 87 Points

Doncic Notches Season-High 45 Points

DALLAS, TX (AP) - Luka Doncic exploded for a season-high 45 points and dished out 15 assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 42, as the Dallas Mavericks cruised past the Orlando Magic 129-104 on Sunday night. Doncic set the tone early, scoring 30 points in the first half, including a flurry of three-pointers that helped the Mavericks take a commanding lead. Hardaway Jr. provided a steady stream of scoring throughout the game, hitting 8-of-15 from the field, including 6-of-11 from three-point range. "Luka was phenomenal tonight," said Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd. "He was just in complete control of the game." The Magic struggled to keep pace with the high-scoring Mavericks, with Paolo Banchero leading the way with 21 points. Franz Wagner added 18 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the onslaught from Doncic and Hardaway Jr. "We just didn't have an answer for them tonight," said Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley. "They played with great intensity and shot the ball incredibly well." The victory marked the Mavericks' fourth straight win and improved their record to 10-6 on the season. The Magic dropped to 5-9 with the loss. "This was a great team win," said Doncic. "We played unselfishly and shared the ball well. It's nights like these that make it all worth it." Doncic's 45-point performance marked his fifth game this season with 40 or more points. He also recorded his third double-double of the season. Hardaway Jr. continued his strong start to the season, averaging 19.3 points per game, while shooting 45.8% from the field. The Mavericks will face the New York Knicks on Tuesday, while the Magic will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
